Spring is here!

So it's April 16th and it's finally getting warmer outside.  I'm so looking forward to getting out in my gardens - the spring tulip bulbs should be starting to poke their little heads out of the ground!  Sun, sun, glorious sun - where are you?  I'm patiently waiting to wear my flipflops!

March 1st!

Well in like a lamb, out like a lion!  March is here!  Finally....February sure did seem long.  This year will be the first in a long time (about 8 years) that I won't be travelling to Florida for the March Break.  Will however take time to spend with my friends, daughters, sister and husband.  Speaking of my hubby, in May we will be celebrating our 30th wedding anniversary and have booked a trip to Las Vegas to celebrate! 

So, what's happening in March - well next week Rusty and I are going to Casino Rama to see Foreigner.  March birthdays:  Rosanne - March 16, Melanie - March 24, Bryan - March 30th.

Almost the end of January!

It's been over a year!

Well it's hard to believe it's been over a year since I last made an entry on this blog.  I guess it's about time then!  So what's been happening?  Well, another year older!  Yep, hitting the big 5-0 this year.  That's exciting!  A few of my lady friends, and husbands, are planning a trip away in January 2013 to Costa Rica to celebrate turning 50.  There are about twenty or so people I know who are turning 50 this year.  There should be a lot of 'birthday celebrations' to attend.  I haven't decided what I would like to do for my birthday - but hoping to make it a 'special' day!  Well I have a few weeks to plan, so maybe I'll come up with something original.  Signing off for now, going to watch the finale of Amazing Race...Cheers, L

Yeah! It's Easter!

So the Easter Weekend is finally here.  The weather was sunny and cool today.  Russell moved the trailer so he could cut down a tree in the front yard that was dying.  I started to clean out the trailer and move some of the summer stuff out.  We use the trailer to pack the summer stuff in during the winter e.g. pool items, hammock.  TIMBER, the tree went down....what a mess.  Spent most of the day cleaning up the brush and piling the wood...okay, Russell spent most of the day cleaning up the mess.  I went for a 3 km walk and made scallop potatoes and a ham roast for supper! mmmm good.  Now watching Oprah and waiting for Allison to return with a couple of movies and a coffee and tea from Timmies!

Family Day - February 21st

During the Ontario provincial election in 2007, eventual winner Dalton McGuinty of the Liberal Party promised that if re-elected premier he would establish a provincial holiday in February. On 12 October 2007, the provincial government established Family Day with the first being observed on 18 February 2008. Its creation raised Ontario's number of public holidays to nine per year.
